Forced air heating and cooling systems, when used correctly, will make your home a more comfortable, cleaner and healthier environment and save you money. A newer, high efficient furnace employs variable speed with high efficient motors so that when they are running 24hrs a day, 365 days a year, the manufacturer's estimated electrical fees are only $35.00 annually.

In most newer furnaces, the sound of the fan is quieter, the fan speed is lower and the flow is continuous. This creates a passive negative air-flow in the home that constantly delivers clean air into the home while pulling air back to the furnace for cleaning and either re-heating or re-cooling.

This process also eliminates hot and cold spots in the home. Most people have experienced a room that is always too hot or too cold.  Passive negative air-flow also eliminates the need to close down heat registers in rooms.

Electric baseboard, hotwater or in floor heating systems do not circulate air throughout the home or eliminate stale air, clean or filter the air. Forced air systems also help to regulate temperatures more effectively.

Ventilation in your home is achieved by the following means:

1. Properly sized bathroom fans
2. Rangehood exhaust fans over your stove or cooktop
3. Bringing in fresh air mechanically by means of the furnace blower and a fresh air intake hood located on the outside of your house.
4. Dryer exhaust
5. Passive attic vents located on your roof or gable ends.

All of these play a part in keeping your home a clean and healthy environment.
